The Comparison Chart custom visual allows to visualize a comparison of connected information: my product vs. market, my team vs. company, my shares vs. an index.

Mit dem Comparison Chart können Sie in Power BI Entwicklungen vergleichen: Umsatz meiner Produkt vs. Markt, Performance meines Teams vs. Firma, meine Aktien vs. Aktienindex.

In a hurry?

Using a standard line chart in Power BI you can visualize the evolution of sales for a specific product or brand. If you want to see more than one product, you have two possibilities

  • create measures per product and add it to values of the line chart
  • use the product as legend in the line chart - and filter the products you want to see

Find the free version of Comparison Chart on the Microsoft Power BI AppSource or directly from within Power BI Desktop.

You want to compare your figures with an index?

Your shares are falling but the index is growing? Your product sales do not change but the overall market sales are growing every month?

If you want to add a benchmark information for comparison reasons to your line chart, you are not able to use the legend for your measures.

If you want to have both: dynamic number of measures (e.g. top 5 products) AND an index for comparison puroposes...the Comparison Chart is your best friend.

If you want...

  • the pro version
  • enhancements to better serve your business needs
  • a private version (Why? See this post from Marco Russo about custom visual versioning in Microsoft Marketplace)
